IG: FACT OF THE DAY: Each color of food comes with a different health benefit๐ŸŒˆ! This is why it is SO important to incorporate different colors into your daily meals. No need to go crazy, as a little bit of each colour will do, but it just needs to be there daily! Here’s the lowdown: ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ’๐ŸŒถ๏ธ Red foods contain phytonutrients that may help reduce the risk for certain cancers, along with helping to protect the brain, heart, liver, & immune system. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฅ•๐ŸŠ Orange foods help protect the immune system, eyes, and skin, and reduce the risk for cancer & heart disease. ๐Ÿ‹๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒฝ Yellow foods are beneficial because they contain compounds that are anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, & may protect the brain, heart and vasculature, eyes, & skin. ๐Ÿฅฆ๐Ÿฅ’๐Ÿ Green foods contain compounds that are anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, and may protect the brain, heart & vasculature, liver, and skin. One of the unique attributes of some green foods is that because they help the liver to work better, they can also assist with keeping hormones in balance. ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ  Blue/purple/black foods from nature are healthy because they contain compounds that are anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory & may protect the brain, heart, & vasculature. Did you notice that EVERY colour of food had something in common? [spoiler: it’s anti-cancer properties

Red foods contain phytonutrients that may help reduce the risk for certain cancers, along with helping to protect the brain, heart, liver, & immune system.
๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฅ•๐ŸŠ
Orange foods help protect the immune system, eyes, and skin, and reduce the risk for cancer & heart disease.
๐Ÿ‹๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒฝ
Yellow foods are beneficial because they contain compounds that are anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, & may protect the brain, heart and vasculature, eyes, & skin.
๐Ÿฅฆ๐Ÿฅ’๐Ÿ
Green foods contain compounds that are anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, and may protect the brain, heart & vasculature, liver, and skin. One of the unique attributes of some green foods is that because they help the liver to work better, they can also assist with keeping hormones in balance.
๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ
Blue/purple/black foods from nature are healthy because they contain compounds that are anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory & may protect the brain, heart, & vasculature. Unfortunately, too little blue/purple is not healthy since these compounds are especially used for the brain, protecting it from damage and promoting healthy cognition and memory.
๐Ÿฅฅ๐ŸŒฐ๐Ÿฅœ
The white/tan/brown food category includes nuts, fruits, vegetables, legumes, spices, seeds, & whole grains that are beneficial to health. In fact, healthy white/tan/brown foods have anti-cancer & anti-inflammatory activity. What makes this class of compounds also special is that like the green foods, there are certain compounds that can assist with liver & hormone health.

Did you notice that EVERY colour of food had something in common? [spoiler: it’s anti-cancer properties๐Ÿ˜ฎ].

IG: This photo is awful, maybe Iโ€™ll take a better one tomorrow. Or maybe not. But what matters is that dark chocolate and nut butter is delicious ๐Ÿซ+ ๐Ÿฅœ. These hearts are filled with organic peanut butter. Peanut butter is one of those things I donโ€™t eat very often due to its often high pesticide content as well as its high likelihood of containing mold. But when I do, I enjoy it and then move on. You can also use almond or other nut buttas. Find a silicone mould or adorable paper cups and melt some dark chocolate chips in a double boiler. A double boiler is when you put a bowl over a pot of boiling water and melt the thing in the bowl so it doesnโ€™t burn. Pour a thin layer into the mould or cups. Let it cool in the fridge. Add your nut butta. I also added cacao nibs because I like a crunch. Then add another layer of melted chocolate to seal it up and cool in the fridge. VOILA! Nut-butta-chocolate-heaven. I took a photo of one of these bitten into so you could see the nut butta but it was also a terrible photo. At least theyโ€™re delicious. Maybe lโ€™ll try again tomorrow in the daylight. Tomorrow is a new day, folks! Make some nut butta cups ๐Ÿ˜˜ Goodnight
