IG: ⬆️CANADA’S LATEST FOOD GUIDE ⬆️ (this graphic is IT!) What are your thoughts? Personally, I think this is wayyyyy better than ever before. (Though the bar was pretty low😆). Sad that healthy fats that support so many key functions in our body aren’t included in the main imaging, but previous guides recommended we use “vegetable oils such as canola and soybean oil…[and] limit butter” which couldn’t be more horribly wrong for our health🤦🏻‍♀️. So I guess no recommendation is better than awful recommendation? And at least this one doesn’t explicitly recommend that we eat bagels, cereal, canned milk, soy beverages and drink juice? 😱 On the positive side, loving the new recommendations for ‘eating habits’ like: •“Take time to eat” •“Notice when you are hungry and when you are full” •”Cook more often” •“Plan what you eat” •“Involve others in planning and preparing meals” •“Enjoy your food” •“Eat meal with others” 🙌🏼 OF COURSE I don’t 100% agree with this guide (will I ever?!) but it’s certainly a HUGE step in the right direction, Canada! Way to go
