IG: Can you make a buttertart healthy? No, but you can make them healthIER 🤷🏻‍♀️ Behold my buttertart recipe using grassfed butter, raw coconut sugar, shredded coconut and macadamia nuts instead of icky refined oils, CORN SYRUP 😱 cream and highly processed sugar. Oh, and they’re gluten-free. I use the pastry from @french.revolution.bakery, roll it out, cut it into circles and put them into a muffin tin. But if you’re not in Dundas you’ll just have to make your own! 🙌🏼 HealthIER Buttertarts Recipe- Makes 15 small tarts Ingredients: •3/4 cup organic raw coconut sugar •1 pasture raised egg •1/4 cup grassfed unsalted butter •1 tsp real vanilla •pinch of Himalayan salt •1 Tablespoons organic coconut cream •1/2 cup chopped macadamia nuts •1/2 cup organic shredded unsweetened coconut •Optional: dark choco chips 🥰 Directions: Preheat oven to 325F (170 degrees C). Cream the butter, sugar and egg well. Add remaining ingredients except chocolate if you optionally choose to add that. Pour batter into your fave gluten free tart shells, no more than half full. If you’re using the chocolate (I did) add 4-5 chips to each tart. Bake for 10-20 minutes or just until pastry begins to gently turn golden; the large time discrepancy is due to whichever pastry you use. Remove from oven and let cool. Enjoy!!
