IG: NOTHING from the garden or the fridge goes to waste here ?. Anything the chickens can’t eat (or just don’t enjoy) gets composted and eventually put pack into the garden, and otherwise the ladies feast on organic goodness from ugly or insect-damaged plant parts or when I overharvest and we have no time to eat it (like here–too much kale, oops). In turn, they provide us with the most amazing nutrient-dense fresh eggs. It’s a win-win for everyone and the planet. If you can’t do chickens (I get it…), start off by composting with a small composter. There are plenty of indoor models that are made for small spaces, apartments, condos etc., so no excuses really
